Hey All!
This week has been AMAZING!!!!! Tricia is doing awesome! She'll get baptized on Saturday! We went to visit a less-active family last Sunday and their niece was there and wants to work towards baptism. Her name is Sarah. We also went to visit another less-active member (she's less-active, because she has to work Sundays). She just had someone move in with her named Sandra. Before we went into the house, we said a prayer asking that there be a non-member in the house who wants to learn more and get baptized. We got in the house and Laura (the member) introduced us to her roommate, then Sandra went upstairs. We visited with Laura and the whole time I just kept thinking that we need to ask Sandra if she wants to take the lessons, but I couldn't figure out how to bring it up. Right before we were going to leave, Laura says, "I wish Sandra would come to church with me." I looked at her and told her to invite Sandra to Invitation Sunday (a Sunday where Sacrament is based completely around non-members. A more "user-friendly" Sacrament) She said, "If I go get her will you invite her?" As she's heading upstairs to get her. Sandra comes back down and says "If they're inviting us to church then we're going!" So, Sandra got invited to church, to take the lessons and now she's getting baptized on Jan. 29th! She's so amazing!!!! A really sweet lady!
We also went to see Jonathan and Sasheene again and they really want to get baptized! The whole time we haven't been able to teach them, Sasheene has been reading her Book of Mormon and praying. She says she knows the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith are true! So, they're getting baptized on the 22nd! This area is just exploding with baptisms!!!!! We're loving it! and having so much fun! It's amazing to see the miracles every single day!!!!
Here's a funny story for the week! We were out tracting in an apartment complex and this guy answered the door in his underwear! All I could think was, "Keep your eyes up Sister Losee and Sister Judd!" Well, as we're awkwardly trying to talk to this guy (by the way, why would you answer the door in your underwear????!!!!!) anyway, the guys cat runs out of the apartment and he gets mad at us and says "Thanks a lot, could you help me get my cat?" So, I'm pretty much crawling around in the rain trying to get the cat to go back to it's half-dressed owner. Well, the guy then comes OUTSIDE in his nothings! I almost died!!!! Luckily the cat ran back into the apartment. I don't blame the cat I wouldn't want people to see me with that guy either!!!! Ha!
Yesterday, church almost got cancelled, because we had freezing rain. We got the call from Bishop at about 7:30 am yesterday saying that church might be cancelled, but he'd let us know by 9. I freaked out, because Tricia HAD to attend church one more time or she wouldn't be able to get baptized on Saturday. I called the District Leader to see what we should do if church gets cancelled and then S. Judd and I drove to the church (which the roads weren't that bad by the way). We then got a call from a member in the ward saying that church was officially cancelled. I called the Bishop and he confirmed it. I let him know the predicament that we were in and he said he would then make church optional, if you felt safe coming to church then you were to come, if not then stay home. So, we ended up just having Sacrament yesterday and there were probably about 30-35 people who showed up. It's amazing what you feel like when you realize you may not be able to attend church and take the Sacrament! I was terrified for the rest of the week! I knew I needed that Sacrament! It made me really appreciate the ability we have to attend church! I never realized what a blessing it was until it almost got taken away!
Well, I hope you all have a TERRIFIC week! I love you lots and look forward to hearing from you all soon!
Love,
S. Losee
