Sister Kaufusi arrived last Tuesday! She is so cool! She was born in American Samoa and then moved to Tonga when she was 3. She grew up in Tonga until she was 18 and then she moved to Utah and has lived with her brother there for the last 6 years. She is full Tongan, we love her so much! She has such an easy going attitude, she keeps us calm. It's such a blessing to have that peace in our home again.
On Saturday, we got a call from President Macdonald. He told us that there is a possibility that either Sister Cutler or I will be transferred in 3 weeks, because he has a sister who is going home and her companion won't have anyone. It was a big blow. I broke down and couldn't get myself to feel happy. I was so scared and really struggling with ALL of the change that is going on. But, as always, the Lord had prepared me by letting me read a scripture in Matthew 11:28-30. It lifted me and let me know that my burden is something I don't have to carry alone. He also has blessed me with 2 AMAZING companions who love me unconditionally; that is a huge blessing that I am very much grateful for!
We read the talk "Finding Joy in the Journey" on Saturday, and I've decided that even though I don't know what's going to happen in the next 3 weeks, I don't want to spend them worried and forget to enjoy the time I do have with my companions and in this area! It kind of goes back to what you were talking about when you said we need to see the good in our lives in order to be happy. Thank you very much for your letter! It was very good to get that in the middle of the week; sometimes it's nice to have that little pick me up to sustain me until Monday!
So, Des didn't get baptized yesterday. :( She is having a really hard time and doesn't quite understand that, that means she needs to get baptized. We're trying to keep working with her and we're supposed to meet with her tomorrow. Katie is doing amazingly! We're meeting with her tonight! She has such an excitement for the gospel and for finding something that fits so well. We've taken some pretty hard, vital steps with Bethany this past week. We invited her to be baptized on May 8th. She didn't fully accept, but we made her a lot of promises that if she would pray with full intent and a willingness to do whatever the Lord asked her, she would be able to recognize the spirit and make the next steps in order to progress. I don't know how much she wants to find out is the problem. She has a lot of fears that only she and the Spirit can change, but we're keeping her in our prayers.
We witnessed an AMAZING MIRACLE on Thursday. We met with Staci and talked about how she needed to get in touch with the bishop in Aloha (UH-LOW-UH) so that he can work with the bishop here, so she can be baptized in July when her friend, Skyler is in town and can baptize her. She said she would be going home this weekend and she would actually be going to church with Skyler, so she'd talk to the bishop then. The spirit then said to me, "If Skyler's in town this weekend, why can't she get baptized then?" I was too scared to ask that bold of a question, so I didn't say anything, but the Spirit doesn't just let important things like that drop, just because one person is too chicken! The next thing I knew, Sister Cutler was saying, "Why can't you get baptized this weekend then?" Staci said, "I know right! I want to, I'm just afraid my mom will get mad if I ask her again. But I'm going to anyway, because I want to get baptized!" She then offered an amazing prayer. She asked Heavenly Father that if it was His will, could her mom please let her be baptized this weekend, but if it wasn't His will, then she understood and she would do whatever was needed. We left her and got a call about an hour later. She said that her mom said she couldn't get baptized this weekend, but she could on May 1st! She said her mom didn't want to be there, but that she will go to church with Staci after she's baptized and that she would read the Book of Mormon. So, Staci isn't getting baptized in July, she's getting baptized this coming Saturday!!!!!!!!!! We are so excited and feel so blessed to be able to have witnessed such an amazing miracle! The Lord's hand is truly in this work and this IS His work!!!! I love it so much!
Well, I love you very much! I hope you have a great week!
Love,
Sister Losee
