Hi Everyone!
I'm going to do something new for a while. This month we're focusing on miracles. We're calling it "Miracles in May"! So, I'm going to write to you as many of the miracles as I can that happen within the week. It's very important that we acknowledge miracles in our lives, so that we can acknowledge who gives us those miracles. Our Heavenly Father does so much for us and I know for me a lot of the time I don't give Him the credit He deserves. So, this is only one of the miracles that happened this week, but it's a very big one in the life of this man and in our lives as missionaries. Next week there will be more :)
We had a fast yesterday to help us find new investigators, because we've been having a really hard time. We went out tracting last night and knocked on this door. The rest of the neighborhood had been pretty rough. The people were not interested and some of them weren't even close to being polite about their dislike of us. Anyway... we knocked on this door and this young black man came out. He got this look on his face and I was sure he was going to make fun of us or be rude in some way by the look on his face. We said, "Hi, how are you?" He then just shook his head and said, "Are you for real?... God really does work in mysterious ways!" He then proceeded to tell us that he had been watching TV and had gotten pretty emotional, so he picked up his bible and started to read then he prayed for God to help him become a better person. He said that about 3 seconds after he finished his prayer, we knocked on his door. His name is Dedrick. He told us that he'd had a pretty rough life of drugs and jail and that he had been investigated for the last 2 years, because the police thought he was selling drugs, but he was just using them very badly. He said that he lived with his girlfriend and their 2 kids. The spirit was there so strongly! We told him about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. We set up a follow-up appointment with him for this coming Tuesday. He then asked if we could say a prayer of grattitude with him. We joined hands, which was a different experience, and he prayed the most beautiful prayer that I've heard in a while! He bore his soul to the Lord with how grateful that Heavenly Father is mindful of him. I felt the spirit so strongly, I couldn't get the cold chills to go away! We're so excited! He is solid! It was so fun to see that had any decisions been made differently, we could have missed the opportunity. He was perfectly prepared! It was AMAZING!!!! The Lord's hand is in this work fully and completely! He is guiding us where we need to go to be able to find His elect children! It's such a comforting, beautiful feeling! I love it!!!!
I hope you all can see the Miracles in May that happen in your life and if anyone wants to, I'd love to receive letters telling me about those miracles!
I love you all and hope you have a terrific week!
Love,
Sister Losee
