November 7, 2010

This week has been pretty uneventful. We found out on Friday that I'm going to Eugene for a 2 day leadership training tomorrow. This means that President is preparing me to train a new sister soon. We talked to President today and he said that nothing is happening this coming transfer though. I assume the new sister will be here at the first of the year. I don't know though.
Yesterday, we had a regional conference that was broadcast from Salt Lake. We got to hear from President Uchtdorf, Elder Hales, and Sister Dalton. It was such a good conference! I have been trying to go to each conference I attend with a question in mind. I didn't take the time to write one down yesterday until right before the meeting. I jotted down a little something that's been really getting to me lately. It was so amazing to see the question answered perfectly along with questions I've written at previous conferences. They talked a lot about being obedient, praying with gratitude and studying the scriptures! It was a wonderful conference! We had to drive to Lincoln City (the coast) for the conference, so we had a little picnic afterward for lunch right on the ocean front! It was so fun! That's what the pictures are that I'm sending. I absolutely love the Oregon Coast! It's so beautiful! President Uchtdorf talked about how a testimony shouldn't be negotiable. I've been finding lately that when I bare my testimony I overthink it so that I don't offend anyone. I make it negotiable. I made an extra effort yesterday to bare strong, bold testimony with love. We knocked on this door and this older woman opened. Sister Abbott started talking to her and asked if we could leave her a pamphlet. The woman said that she was Baptist and Methodist. I then felt the pull to testify. I finally got the courage and told her that I know that this gospel will only give her more. It will not take away from her testimony at all. I told her that this gospel has changed my life and that it is for everyone no matter the stage of life they're in. She thanked us and shut the door with tears on her cheeks. We walked away and we felt this strange pull that we needed to go back and give her a hug, so we did. She opened the door and told us she was sorry, but that her husband was in the hospital. We gave her a hug and told her that Heavenly Father loves her and is VERY mindful of what she is going through. She thanked us and told us that we could stop back by. It was such an amazing experience to see the power of a unhindered testimony. It heals lives with the Spirit that it brings!
Well, I better go. I love you all!
Love,
Sister Losee
