First off, my address is 221 SE Sheridan Rd, Sheridan, OR 97378. You can send stuff there, because it will get to me faster.
Sister Abbott and I are touring a school next week, here in Sheridan, called the Delphian School of Scientology and we called to invite Sister Macdonald. She said she'd come! I thought that was so nice of her to come all the way up here (we're like 2 hours north of the Mission Home) to tour a school with us and to spend the day. She is truly so amazing! This school looks like Hogwarts when it's foggy outside! That's kind of what made us want to tour it. We found out that it used to be a Catholic school for Priests, but then it closed down and the Scientology religion bought it and has turned it into a Jr. High/High School. It looks pretty cool and I guess we have some less-active members who are going there, so we're going to wear our Proselyting clothes for a possible "missionary experienc"!
Things are really going great here! We met this guy this week named Jiy or 2feathers. He is Native American and he's super cool! We set a baptism date with him the first time we taught him! He knew exactly what he needed to do. He's so sweet!!! Our first lesson he told us that he was a little worried that if he joined our church he would have to give up his native beliefs and he couldn't do that. I asked what those beliefs were and he explained basically that we have a mother earth and that we care for her and our little brothers and sisters (animals). I told him that we believed that too. That Heavenly Father had created this earth for us and the animals and it was our job to care for them both, because they would be glorified right along with us. I think the natives have very good beliefs and we would be wise to treat our earth with a little more respect like they do. It was a pretty cool lesson and the Spirit was very strong! His baptism date is for October 29th, but we're going to have to move it to the 31st, becase he got sick yesterday and couldn't make it to church.
We also taught Shydon a couple of times and we picked up her daughters, Tiffany and Sammy, as new investigators. They are so cool! Shydon keeps telling us how grateful she is that Heavenly Father sent us to her. She is truly amazing! They weren't able to go to church yesterday, because Shydon wasn't feeling well, but we're going to try to help them this week, so that they can make it.
This week, Sister Abbott and I have been praying to find potential Priesthood holders. In one day, we picked up 3 new investigators and they were all men. It was the coolest thing. Everyone that we saw and talked to was a potential Priesthood holder! I love seeing answers to prayers happen as fast as they do as a missionary!
Love you lots!
Love,
Sister Losee
