Hey everyone!
This week has been pretty good. We've just been working hard and trying to find people to teach. We had Leadership Training on Wednesday, so that was a lot of fun. President let us know that I will not be transferred this transfer. I'm staying in Willamina for another 6 weeks with Sister Judd! I'm pretty relieved!
Sister Judd and I are changing our approach to missionary work. We've been studying about different things to do to find people and we're applying different concepts. I'm really excited and just merely by us taking some initiative, Heavenly Father is already blessing us. We had a lot of fun at the airplane museum today! I took LOTS of pictures! We had a lot of fun and a lot of good conversation with President and Sister Macdonald!
I've been reading in Ether a lot lately! I love it so much! Ether 6 is one of my favorites. The Jaredites went through so much! I can't even imagine being cooped in a little shell for almost a year. I'm sure there were times when they didn't want to be there; when they were depressed, but Ether 6:9 tells us that they did sing praises to God. They sang even when they didn't want to sing and they faked it til they made it, I'm sure at some points. I feel that's such a great lesson for us that we need to just 'fake it til we make it'. We need to remember that we have every reason to be happy, even when we feel every reason to be sad. In v. 12 it talks about them landing in the Promised land. They humbled themselves and thanked God for the tender mercies that He showed them. It wasn't just that they were happy to be out of those darn barges, they were grateful to have been in them. They found joy in their journey and saw the blessings that God had given them, even through the hard time. That's how I want to be when I leave my mission; not happy to be done, but happy to have had it happen at all. That's how I want to be about life. I want to find joy in the journey. It was a pretty cool study to have this week!
I better go!
Love,
Sister Losee
