So much has happened this week! I’ll try to remember all the main points.
Last weekend was pretty hard. I was missing you all so much! I ended up having a little breakdown on Saturday. I had gotten to the point where I felt like we were so busy, I couldn’t even get a real, sincere prayer to my Heavenly Father in. When I started crying I went into the bathroom & told my Heavenly Father that I needed to feel His love and that I wasn’t alone. I asked for His help & my dear sweet companion, Sister Smith walked in at that exact moment. She told me she loved me & that she was so glad we were companions. Then not even 5 minutes later, Sister Barnes, our coordinating sister, (she’s basically a Relief Society President) came & asked if she could interview me. It’s so amazing how our Heavenly Father blesses us & in here it seems instantaneous!
On Sunday, my spirit was lifted again & we got to go to Music & the Spoken Word. I’m sorry to say I fell asleep in that. We then had Relief Society! It was amazing! Sister Janice Kapp Perry came & spoke to us. She had us sing a medley of Primary songs she has written. They were: A Child’s Prayer, I Love to See the Temple, I Belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I’m Trying to Be Like Jesus, Army of Helaman & Love Is Spoken Here. I know these are all songs I’ve known forever, but singing them here in the MTC brought huge tears to my eyes. Knowing that when I sang those in Primary a mission was just a distant dream, but now I am actually living it! It is so amazing to me! When we’re taught that what we do when we’re young will determine who we become, it is a very, very true principle!
Sorry, I’m going to jump back to last Friday. I was doing my personal study & had decided to start the Book of Mormon over again. I feel such a connection to Nephi. Even in Nephi 1:1, I truly feel like he’s expressing my life. I was born to goodly parents; they’ve (you’ve) taught me the knowledge & mysteries of my Heavenly Father. I’ve had my trials in life, but I’ve been so blessed by my Heavenly Father. It was really an amazing study time that brought me so much peace & comfort.
Okay, on to less spiritual. My district is so much fun! First of all, Sister Smith is wonderful. She has such a sweet disposition; I actually had to ask her to complain to me! HaHa!
Next, Elder Peart (said Peert) is way nice. He likes to bake & barbeque. I can’t remember where he’s from, but I know it’s Utah & he’s 19.
Then, Elder Kelley… he’s a very nice elder. He’s from Farmington & is our district leader. I don’t think I ever see a frown on his face! He has such a genuine concern for others! He’s 19.
Then there’s Elder Harral (said Hairal). He reminds me of Jason Glancy. He is a brilliant person & is full of really interesting information & big words that he teaches to us. He’s from Highland. He’s 20.
Elder Dalton is his companion. He is from Tooele. He is so funny! He & I laugh all the time! It’s way fun. He’s 19.
Then we have Elder Fowles. He is a very sweet elder. Really shy, but just a good guy all around. He’s from Delta & he’s 19.
His companion is Elder Gonzales. He’s from Provo. He’s my age (only about a couple of months younger). He is so fun & so good! We get along pretty well. He’s pretty down to earth. He’s really fun to talk to & always has a quick smile.
My teachers are Brother Kearns & Brother Davis. Brother Kearns is actually really good friends with Liva, which is really fun! They are both very knowledgeable & so helpful to us. Teaching is pretty overwhelming at times, but they are awesome to make it seem more simple.
Our days seem to fly by because we’re so busy, but we get so much accomplished that it’s rewarding!
I hope everything is going well at home. I miss you all very much & would love to hear from you. I can read letters anytime… so please send me some mail. I can only respond on P-days, but we get mail every day, 2x a day.
I love you very very much and miss you lots!
Love Sister Holly Noel Losee
