July 26th, 2010

Hi everyone!!!!
This week has been full of ups and downs, such is mission life. But it has been a great learning experience this week!
We have a husband and wife who are investigating the church and have been for almost 4 months. We go over to their home every Monday for dinner. They haven't wanted us to teach the actual lessons, they just like to do a Q & A. Well, a few weeks ago the wife, Jill, told us that she wanted us to start centering our dinners around the gospel more. We told her in order to do that, we would need to teach the actual lessons. She said that was fine. Well, this past Monday, we were over there and Jill was having a hard time understanding some concepts and her husband Pete, was just being kind of quiet. When we were getting ready to leave, Pete said that if he could he would like to say something. The floor was his after that! He said that he was driving back to Springfield from Grants Pass and usually has his radio blasting, but on this drive, he decided that if he wanted answers about this religious stuff, he should probably pray. He turned his music off and prayed the whole way up from Grants Pass. He said he really felt like God was there listening to him. He said there was a lot of meat tenderizing on his heart and that he was now seriously considering being baptized! This was BIG news for Pete, because he is one of the MOST skeptical people I've every met. We were very excited to hear this news. The next day, we were driving and the phone rang and it was Pete. Our hearts stopped, because when someone calls us that quickly, it's usually not good news. Usually Satan has gotten in and hardened their hearts and put fears in their minds. Pete said that we can't keep doing what we're doing. We asked if he wanted us to keep coming over on Mondays. He said that they did, but that they wanted us to teach the lessons. We were so confused on what he was saying, so he finally said, "This my weird way of telling you that we want to be baptized!" We were ecstatic!!!! We went over to their house that night. Pete wants to get baptized and will be baptized on August 14th and Jill will wait until after she has her baby on December 23rd (ha! I know! My birthday!) and then Pete wants to be the one to baptize her. We're trying to convince Jill that she should be baptized before then, but she's not budging yet, so we'll see what happens! We're very, very, very excited for them!
I received a WONDERFUL surprise yesterday when I went to church! My dear Sister Cutler was making her way through Oregon and I got to see her for a little bit at church! It was a HUGE blessing!
This week, we got a punching bag from one of our recent converts. Our Landlord is so sweet, and took the time to hang it in our laundry room for us. The first night we had it, I decided I was going to punch it around for a bit. The problem: we have no gloves. So I decided to just punch without gloves, well, long story short, I punched wrong and thought I had broken at least one if not both of my pinkies. Fortunately they were just bruised really badly. I've now resorted to using hand towels wrapped around my knuckles and our district leader was kind enough to show me how to punch correctly! Ha! It was pretty humorous! Sister Hamilton and I laughed pretty hard! Maybe I'll take pictures and send them some day!
I love you all very, very much! Thank you for all of your love and support! I look forward to letters this week! :)
Love,
Sister Losee

Editor's note: Holly sent pictures this week, but I'm having a hard time downloading them. I'll post them as soon as I figure out the problem.
